How much CO₂ does rooftop solar save?

Each unit (kWh) of grid electricity in India emits roughly 0.7 kg of CO₂. A 3 kW system generates about 4,400 units a year, avoiding roughly 3 tonnes of CO₂ annually — and over 75 tonnes across its 25-year life.

How is the “trees” figure worked out?

A mature tree absorbs roughly 20 kg of CO₂ a year. We divide your annual CO₂ savings by that to show an easy-to-picture equivalent — it is illustrative, not exact.

Is solar really clean if panels take energy to make?

Yes. A rooftop panel typically “pays back” the energy used to manufacture it within 1–3 years, then generates clean power for 25 years — a large net environmental gain.
